Blackboard Ultra Preview Courses

Anthology, the service provider for Blackboard, will retire the Original Course View (Original) on December 31, 2026. To support your transition to the Ultra Course View (Ultra), we proactively copy your 2024-25 courses, and convert the copied courses from Original to Ultra for your preview.

Why Reviewing COPYULTRAPREVIEW Courses Is Important

If you plan to reuse and copy content into Ultra courses:

Reviewing the COPYULTRAPREVIEW course allows you to see how the content and structure have been altered during the transition from Original to Ultra.
Based on your review, you can decide:
- If there are a lot of changes, it might be easier to build the Ultra course from the beginning to make it clearer and better organized.
- If there are only small changes and the course looks good, you might want to copy course. (Note: Be sure to select the COPYULTRAPREVIEW course as the source when copying.) For more information about copying content: Blackboard Help: Copy Content from Other Courses

Previewing the COPYULTRAPREVIEW course helps you see how your content will look in Ultra and makes it easier to plan your course.

Steps

Find your -COPYULTRAPREVIEW courses
- To find your -COPYULTRAPREVIEW courses, use the search box on the Courses page.
- On the Courses page, click the Terms dropdown menu and select the terms tagged with (Ultra Preview). These terms will give you access to your COPYULTRAPREVIEW courses.
Review Conversion Risk Analysis
- After accessing the COPYULTRAPREVIEW course, append “/conversionRiskAnalysis” to the end of the course URL.
- On the right-hand side of the page, you’ll see a list of exceptions. You can review them and identify the changes. To learn more about the exception priorities: Blackboard Help: Ultra Course Preview (see Understanding exception priorities).
[Optional] Check with a testing student account
- If you wish to evaluate the course and its gradable items using a student account, please contact the ITSC Service Desk at https://servicedesk.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk or email elearning@cuhk.edu.hk. Please include the COPYULTRAPREVIEW Course ID in your request.
